On February 16, 2009, an airplane disappeared over the jungles of Venezuela. Since then search parties haven't been able to find the plane or its pilot and passengers. Bob Norton, director of Adventist Medical Aviation – Venezuela, was flying the plane, which carried his wife, the ministry’s schoolteacher, and four other passengers.
It is often difficult to understand the reasons behind so much of what takes place on earth today. But God is faithful, and it remains only to trust Him to work through this and every painful event in a mighty way.
The search continues for the missing plane, but the work is going forward as well. Gospel Ministries International is training a young Venezuelan to continue the work Bob had begun, providing emergency medical transportation to those in the surrounding villages and sharing the hope of a Savior with those living in the dense jungles of Southeast Venezuela.
