Metairie, Louisiana - Heritage Academy students helped reconstruct the flood-damaged New Orleans First Church in Metairie, Louisiana. During Hurricane Katrina, rainwater accumulation and a broken pump caused up to two feet of water damage in this area. Church members struggle to work during the day and try to repair what remains of their homes at night—they don’t have time or energy to repair their church. The Heritage students were blessed to help provide at least one safe haven for Sabbath worship.
Also, in April Heritage hosted the annual E. A. Sutherland Educational Association’s Music Festival. The festival culminated with a performance at the ASI Southern Union Convention in Georgia.
